Being a wedding photographer for the better part of 6 years, I absolutely ADORE wedding professionals! So, when Andrea from Soireé Smith, a local Chicago Wedding Planner, called me and wanted to schedule a brand session, I may have literally done a dance!
The great thing about wedding professionals is the amount or WORK that they put into their business. It’s not just what happens on the day (which is a lot in and of itself) but all of those little things in between. In reality, most wedding vendors work for their clients for 12-18 months (!!) and there are just a few things that happen in between booking and the final email!
During Andrea’s first session, we really focused on her at-home work life, how she pampered her clients, and how she helps couples prepare for their big day! Wedding planning is a beast of a task. It’s all seating charts and coordination and organization. This is a job that only a rockstar wedding planner like Andrea can do!
It did take a good while for Andrea to jump in for this first brand session, and I TOTALLY understand! The camera can be intimidating, especially when we’re not used to being in front of it. But after the session was finished, Andrea told me how EASY it was, and how she had been overthinking it COMPLETELY! I can’t tell you how many times I have this same conversation with so many of my clients. I promise, I will make you feel right at home and you won’t even notice that we’re taking photos. Plus, we’ll have a lot of fun doing all of your favorite things!
TIP: Sometimes the most unexpected parts of your house are the best places for photos during your brand session! This staircase was right inside the front door. THE BEST LIGHT and it makes for a really homey, down to earth vibe with a sprinkle of that sophistication! When looking for a good spot, look for natural light, light accents, and few distractions.
