I love personal branding sessions that revolve around products! This is especially true when I get to have a little fun and even BETTER when I get to be creative.
For Ann Marie, skincare and makeup are a huge part of her personal brand. She’s always testing new products to share with her audience. So she needed some great, eye-catching photos of you know, the products! During our shoot, we went through a lot of trial and error on how Ann Marie wanted to showcase the products she tested. Did we want just images of her after using them? Shots that are just strictly of the product? Or did we need to capture some action shots of Ann Marie applying the products?
In the end, we decided on ALL OF THE ABOVE!

In case you can’t tell by the photos below, we had so much fun shooting these sessions! Getting shots that highlight products while simultaneously capturing Ann Marie’s bubbly personality is always entertaining! Even though we were focused on highlighting the products, it was important that we leaned into Ann Marie’s personal brand and stayed true to her personality through the photos.
Oh, to be a fly on the wall during these shoots! Ann Marie will tell you that I put her in some crazy poses. Some of our constant phrases were “This is totally natural, right?” and “I’m just going to get all up in your face, I’m so sorry.” My personal favorite quote has got to be “I think I need to shoot this from inside the shower…” Sounds crazy right? Maybe, but that’s part of the fun! It’s also the thing that puts my client at ease in front of the camera and lets them relax, have fun, and be themselves! You can be a small business owner and still have fun!
Product Photography is not always about showcasing the product alone. Adding little touches to your photos by letting your personality come out (like in these shots) gives your content another layer of interest!
